So i decided to try and spray paint it.

How to paint blinds. Flip the slats over and paint the other side with two to three thin coats of paint. Paint the blinds with a spray paint formulated for metal surfaces. Allow the blinds to dry overnight then reassemble and rehang them.

I needed to get this done fast and there was no way i would take down my blinds piece by piece to paint it. Spray each slat with the shellac spray primer until the slat is coated evenly. When there is only a little paint left in the can you may be better off spraying it into a plastic cup and then using a paint brush to paint the blinds in sections that need it. When deciding to spray paint what you have instead of buying new you need to calculate the cost of supplies and your time as to whether that outweighs the expense of new blinds.

Apply two to three thin coats of paint to each side of the blinds and allow the final coat to dry for one hour. Make sure you have enough space between them so you can paint the sides at the same time. You know how we can be in a hurry sometimes well too often. I did this with the last can.

The shellac spray primer will bind to bare wood or wood finished with both oil and water based coatings. There was a surprising amount of paint that came out.
