Prepare the soap and water cleaning solution.
You could use normal tap water instead of distilled water but it may leave mineral deposits in the grooves.

Make sure the sponge fairly rinsed out but still has a decent amount of water and soap so that there is no excess water getting onto the vinyl surface then clean it with the soap.
Clean your record gently.
Remove the debris and dust that has been collecting on your record with a carbon fibre brush or cloth.
We iterated on this using the commonly suggested solution of distilled water dishwashing soap and isopropyl alcohol.
You will need dish soap a bowl warm distilled water or deionised water a lint free soft cloth a carbon fibre brush.

I then immediately rinse out the sponge so it just has cold water on it with no soap clean the record again to make sure there is no residue of the fairy liquid.
